Stars and tiny planets drift through rich layers of turquoise, violet, gold and warm earthy colour. Turn it over to discover a completely different arrangement of marks and colour - two little abstract worlds in one unique bookmark.
Size: 17cm x 3 cm this bookmark has been hand painted on both sides.
Pocket Cosmos is a tiny collection of one-of-a-kind, double-sided bookmarks created from painted papers left over from my mixed-media work.
Rather than letting these colourful fragments disappear, I have given them another life. Layers of paint, texture and spontaneous marks are transformed with stars, circles, wandering lines and flashes of metallic colour, creating three little imaginary worlds.
Because they are made from original painted papers rather than printed designs, no two sides are the same. Turn one over and there is another little piece of art waiting on the other side.
Colourful, tactile and completely unique, each Pocket Cosmos is a small piece of original art designed to live between the pages of a favourite book.
