Full description
'Trinity Knot' is a signed, original painting of a Triquetra or Trinity Knot. With its continuous pattern, it is used as a Celtic symbol for strength. Thought to date back to the 4th century BC, it has various meanings including Father, Son and Holy Spirit; birth, life and death, and also represents unity, protection and everlasting life.
'Trinity Knot' is painted in acrylic paint on high quality, reclaimed Welsh slate roof tile which is most likely to be over 100 years old. The slate is carefully chosen and the painting designed with the natural contours of the slate in mind. Before painting, the slate is sanded to remove any sharp edges while retaining the natural look, and hanging holes are drilled. After the painting is finished, it is signed by the artist and varnished front and back with several coats of matt spray varnish with UV protection and a wire-enforced rope has been added for hanging on the wall.
Size: L17cm x W16.5cm.
