Full description
As a practising therapist, I often remind people that taking care of our well-being doesn't have to require hours of time. Creating a small 'micro-moment' of calm-taking just two or three mindful breaths while looking at something delicate and grounding-can gently break the cycle of a busy day.
I lovingly upcycled this small, delicate vintage bone china cup, originally crafted in Staffordshire. Decorated with timeless English country garden motifs, it features charming forget-me-nots, soft roses, and an elegant trailing blue ribbon.
To honour its heritage, I topped the cup with a plump, handmade fabric cushion chosen to echo the sweet floral theme. The fine bone china provides a lovely, satisfying tactile weight when held, making it a soothing companion for a bedside table, desk, or sewing basket. Whether used for slow stitching, keeping everyday pins safe, or simply as a nostalgic decorative treasure, it serves as a gentle reminder to pause and breathe.
