Full description
A patchwork quilt made in a traditional style with Coin Stacks and Ninepatch Blocks made from different cotton prints. The copper coloured background fabric helps all the little pieces stand out and 'shine'.
The quilted throw measures 64 inches long by 57.5" wide (162cm x 146cm) making it an ideal size to use as a cosy sofa throw or to take out into the conservatory or garden to use as a warm layer on a cool evening. It is light weight enough to carry as a picnic blanket too.
All the fabrics on the outside of the quilt are 100% cotton. Between the patchwork front and the backing is a layer of wadding made of recycled fibres: 70% cotton, 30% polyester. The quilt is therefore breathable and easy to care for.
I have quilted the three layers together using several different techniques and stitching designs. The background is stitched with a meandering pattern while the Ninepatch blocks have a petal like design. The Coin Stacks are quilted with a wavy stitch. The three layers are sealed with a homemade multicoloured, double binding.
Machine washable on a gentle cycle.
