Full description
This crow idol is made primarily from black porcelain with an addition of white porcelain slip and sprigs further embellished with white enamel. Halgrim's surface is a black-and-white harlequin pattern strewn with eyes. There is something occult about this simple lattice, symbolic perhaps of the potential energy opposing forces yield when met. A third pathway emerging from duality.
At the centre of their left side Halgrim bares a third and larger eye, perhaps watching these liminal forces at work? A door neither opened nor closed? What does Halgrim see beyond the threshold?
DIMENSIONS: 8cm high, 7cm wide and 13 cm long.
MATERIALS: black porcelain, white porcelain, white enamel.
