Flare is a hand carved sculpture and functional bud vase crafted from rare English Laburnum timber
The name Flare comes from the way the grain patterns radiate outwards like a burst of light This piece highlights the natural symmetry of the wood which creates a striking pattern on the face of the vase
I have hand sanded this sculpture to a glass smooth 800 grit finish It is incredibly tactile and highly polished It comes with a glass insert to hold water safely protecting the timber
The wood is finished with Osmo Polyx Oil to bring out the deep golden tones and shimmering grain
