The wind over the Thornton moors has a specific sound—a low, constant hum that has inspired poets and laborers alike for centuries. It’s a place where the air feels heavy with history, and the stone walls of the village have seen generations of weavers, writers, and makers.
It is here, in the heart of Brontë Country, that The Currer Fold begins its life.
The Meeting of Two Worlds
Every card holder we create is a conversation between two distinct landscapes.
First, there is the Walpier Dollaro from the legendary Conceria Walpier in Tuscany. It is a leather of character—firm, pebbled, and resilient. It represents the sophistication of Italian tanning, designed to withstand the scuffs of a busy life without losing its soul.
Then, we ground that Italian elegance with traditional Calfskin Veg Tan. This is the "honest" leather. It is smooth, supple, and reactive. It doesn't stay the same; it watches where you go.

This product is made from vegetable tanned leather and we use natural beeswax for the burnishing of the edges

Named after Charlotte Brontë's famous pseudonym, The Currer Fold is a study in texture and heritage. This card holder is designed for those who appreciate the slow-made process of traditional leatherwork, blending local Yorkshire grit with world-class Italian materials.
The Materials
We've paired two of the finest leathers available to create a piece that feels as good as it looks:
Conceria Walpier Dollaro: This iconic Italian vegetable-tanned leather features a distinct, scratch-resistant "pebbled" grain that provides a firm structure and a tactile grip.
Calfskin Veg Tan: Soft yet incredibly durable, this smooth calfskin will darken and develop a unique patina over time, telling the story of its journey with you.
