Part Of The Ghosts Of The Big Top series." Ligati - Bound By The Hand" delves into the darker side of existance - where identity is shaped by forces beyond our control. These suspended figures are not performers in harmony, but individuals bound separately, sharing space without connection.
This artwork speaks to emotional and mental struggle: the feeling of being controlled, silenced, or overlooked while still expected to "perform" The threads act as both literal and symbolic restraint-suggesting manipulation, pressure, and the quiet tension of being unable to break free.
The original artwork was created using paper and layered textiles with hand stitching, embracing raw texture and imperfection. The visible threads act as both structure and symbolism - representing control, fragility, and the tension of being unable to break free.
