Peridot is the traditional birthstone for August and Leo.
It is the transparent form of the mineral Olivine, and was mined by the ancient Egyptians, who called it 'the gem of the sun'.
These AAA grade micro-faceted beads have a vibrant yellow-green hue.
The butterfly is a potent symbol in many cultures around the world, symbolising transformation, rebirth, joy and long life.
In Christianity they are a symbol of resurrection, so this would also make a lovely Easter gift as an alternative to chocolate.

Full description
This shorter style necklace is in Spring colours of fresh green and pale lemon.
As a centrepiece I have made a pendant from a 10mm Austrian crystal butterfly in the colour 'peridot', bracketed by 2mm gold vermeil beads and Austrian crystal 'jonquil' bicones.
The butterfly pendant is set between two 5mm Austrian crystal 'luminous green' bicones and four 3mm AAA faceted genuine peridot gemstone beads.
To either side are trios of 6mm Ambronite beads embellished with more Peridot beads.
The Austrian crystals and the faceted Peridot give a lovely glint in the light.
The butterfly is a symbol of transformation, rebirth, joy and long life.

The necklace then graduates to alternating 4mm Ambronite and 4mm New Jade.
Ambronite is the name for pale yellow calcite, and New Jade is a light, celery-heart green form of Serpentine.
The necklace fastens with a Tibetan rose toggle clasp with an antique gold finish.
The clasp is easy to fasten and is nickel and lead free.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, this would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, Easter or as a treat for yourself.
This choker style necklace measures approximately 16 inches (41cm), excluding the pendant.
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
