For this dove, I began with the maroon‑purple glass — a translucent sheet with a depth that shifts from wine‑dark to plum when held to the light. It has a richness that works beautifully for the body and tail, giving the silhouette a sense of quiet strength. To balance that depth, I chose a wispy white glass for the wing, selecting a section where the soft veining would add movement without overpowering the darker tones.
Each piece was hand‑cut, foiled, and soldered using the Tiffany method, allowing the contrasting colours to meet cleanly and glow in harmony once the dove is hung.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
This listing is for one handmade stained glass dove suncatcher, crafted with a translucent deep maroon purple glass for the body and tail feathers. The main wing is cut from a soft, wispy white glass that glows beautifully when backlit, adding contrast and calm to the darker tones. The beak is made from a pale yellow glass, giving the dove a subtle, harmonious finish.
The finished piece measures approximately 8 cm high x 13 cm wide, including the hanging hook.
Each dove is individually hand cut and crafted using the Tiffany copper foiled glass method. Every piece of glass is edged with copper foil, soldered, and cleaned. As with all craft glass, natural textures and variations make every dove completely unique. We’ve done our best to show the true colours in the photographs.
Although we enjoy ours as decorations on the Christmas tree, this dove looks just as lovely displayed all year round in a sunny window, on a wall hook, or as part of a nature inspired display.
