Full description
A Double Irish Chain patchwork made from high quality cotton prints on an off-white, Kona snow cotton background. I have also pieced the back of this bedcover in coordinating cottons so the quilt can be used either way up.
Inside the quilt is a layer of Sew Simple EcoBlend wadding - a mix of recycled 70% cotton and 30% polyester fibres.
I have machine stitched a traditional grid design across the whole quilt. This stabilises the three layers (front, wadding and back) as well as adding a beautiful, timeless texture to the quilt. The edge of the quilt is bound with a double layer of cotton fabric neatly hand stitched in place.
This quilt measures 76 inches square (193cm x 193cm). Large enough to lie across the top of a double bed or be used as a throw on a King size bed or large sofa.
The quilt is machine washable on a gentle cycle but would require a large drum machine.
Made in my smoke-free, pet-free sewing studio.
