Full description
A colourful and practical gift for any student wanting to bring warmth and personality to bland accommodation. A patchwork quilt ideal for throwing across a bed or chair. Ideal for wrapping up in for late night study sessions too!
The traditional patchwork block design, dating back to the 1800s is called 'Log Cabin'. The strips of fabric that make up each of the blocks represent the log walls of a family home. Some are in bright colours to signify happy times shared together, while the paler 'logs' remind us of the tougher times that families share too.
This quilted throw measures 56 inches wide by 72 inches long (142cm x 182cm). The patchwork front and printed back are 100% cotton. Inside is a layer of quilters wadding made from recycled fibres - 70% cotton, 30% polyester. The backing fabric is a Lori Holt print and contains lots of 1930's style adverts and information related to farming.
The quilt can be machine washed on a gentle cycle. After the first wash the quilted stitches will sink deeper into the layers giving the quilt a slightly wrinkled, antique look.
