This print is inspired by the legeng of St Kenelm and the sacred well that sprung up where his body was laid in the foothills of Winchcombe, Gloucestershire in AD 821. This interpritation of the Saint as a squirrel is a result of more contemprary folklore. For years around Winchcombe, there have been sightings of an almost mythical white squirrel. No one beleives you when you first tell them about it, then they see it too.. Genuinly, look it up.

Old medieval woodcut inspired lino print of St Kenelm as a squirrel, based on the mythical story of the boy saint and the almost-mythical white squirrel that lives near his resting place.
