Belenos - God of the Sun and Healing
(Celtic: possibly, Bright One), one of the most ancient and most widely worshipped of the pagan Celtic deities; he was associated with pastoralism. He is connected to the great fire festival, called Beltane (or Beltine), held on May 1.
Belenus (also known as Belenos, Belinus, Bel, Beli Mawr) is a sun god in Celtic mythology and, in the 3rd century, the patron deity of the Italian city of Aquileia. Called “He Who Shines Brightly” (or “The Shining God”), he was one of the oldest and most worshipped Celtic deities and is associated with the ancient fire festival and the modern Beltane Sabbat.
