Full description
This pendant is created from the direct imprint of a real shell, preserving the natural ridges, growth lines and irregular structure of the original form. The piece is handmade in silver and hand finished to keep the crisp surface detail produced by the shell itself rather than a manufactured pattern.
Shell forms have appeared in art for centuries as symbols of the sea, travel and renewal. In European art history they are strongly associated with Renaissance imagery, most notably Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, where the shell represents origin and emergence.
Each pendant is made individually, so slight variations in texture and edge shape reflect both the natural source and the handmaking process.
