This illustration was inspired by the carefree joy of childhood and the playful storytelling that Penny Black stamps capture so well. The image of two children swinging from a tree branch felt full of movement and laughter, and painting it by hand allowed those feelings to come through in the colour and detail. The idea of including two versions on one sheet came from wanting to offer something useful for card‑makers—small pieces of art that can be shared, gifted, or incorporated into handmade creations.
The aim was to create something that feels light, happy, and full of gentle nostalgia, ready to become part of someone else’s creative project.
Postage and packaging is for second class, large letter.

This listing is for an A5 hand watercoloured illustration created from a Penny Black stamp featuring two joyful children hanging from a tree branch. The artwork is painted on thick, high quality watercolour paper using soft washes and fine detail to bring the scene to life.
