My family had a house fire in 2017 from a candle, so ever since then I've been experimenting with keeping my space smelling fresh without flames! Living in Scotland means we already struggle with condensation so I wasn't keen on using scented humidifiers (or leaving windows open to the freezing cold).. I also have my fluffy loved ones (my cat and dog) who I don't want bumping into a table that can spill hot melted wax from wax burners or something alike. I have always been crafty (lol) and have recently been playing around with clay, my partner told me a story about India using stone pots to release fragrance oils into the air, specifically terracotta for the slow release, meant to last hours. I did some research and already having all the materials I gave it a go, loved the process and the results even more!

Just add essential oil to the grooves of the stones.
Tip: Place one or two in the bottom of your kitchen bin before adding the bin bag – this will prevent that nasty whiff!
To remove scent: add the stones into a bowl of hot water (be careful, not boiling hot) and leave for at least 1 hour, then leave to dry and start again with a new fragrance.
