This piece which is part of a series of three painting was inspired by a clear night sky (yes, we do have them sometimes in Cumbria!) I wanted to capture the 'noise' of the distant stars and galaxies—the overlapping layers of cosmic dust, the streaks of solar radiation, and the ancient, golden light that has travelled millions of years to reach us.
