This water lily was inspired by the first blooms rising from my small garden pond—those quiet, hopeful moments when the surface breaks and a new flower unfurls. I wanted to capture the warmth of those early petals, glowing softly in the morning light, so I chose iridised pink‑orange glass for its shifting colours and gentle shimmer. As the light moves, the glass echoes the way real water lilies change through the day: sometimes warm and sunlit, sometimes cool and reflective.
Making this piece was a way of honouring the stillness of the pond and the tiny rituals of nature that happen right outside my door. It’s a reminder of slow beginnings, soft colours, and the calm beauty that appears when water, light, and petals meet.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
A stained glass waterlily shallow dish handcrafted from iridescent pink orange art glass. Each petal is individually cut, foiled, and soldered using the traditional Tiffany method, then shaped so the petals lift softly from the centre, giving the piece a delicate, sculptural presence. The iridescent surface shifts beautifully in changing light, revealing flashes of rose, peach, and warm gold.
Measuring approximately 20 cm across, this waterlily is both decorative and gently functional. Its open, petal shaped form makes it a lovely tealight holder, a small table centre accent, a resting place for rings or jewellery, or a quiet focal point on a bedside table or windowsill.
Each dish is crafted by hand: every piece of glass is edged with copper foil, soldered, and cleaned. Craft glass naturally contains tiny variations and textures, making every waterlily unique.
