I was in the process of making some smaller glass pieces when this wispy rich blue jumped out at me - it makes the perfect fairy body. Very often I pick out a piece of glass and it almost tells me what it wants to be!
The inspiration for this design comes from the cooler tones found in shaded woodland areas, where deep blues and silvery textures appear in water, bark and shadow. The royal blue body gives the piece a calm, steady presence, while the Florentine and Gluechip wings introduce structure and fine surface detail. The intention is a quietly distinctive object with its own character, shaped to bring a subtle, reflective note to a branch, shelf or window.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
A hand crafted stained glass woodland fairy made from translucent royal blue wispy glass for the body, clear Florentine glass for the lower wings and cobalt blue Gluechip glass for the upper wings. The combination creates a defined contrast between the smooth depth of the body and the textured surfaces of the wings, with the Gluechip glass adding a frosted pattern that shifts as the light moves.
This fairy is one of a wider collection, shown in the final photograph and in other listings. The finished piece measures approximately 9 cm in height and 10 cm in width, including the hook, and can be hung as a small decorative accent or placed within a seasonal display. It is sometimes hidden in the garden for younger visitors to find, though it is brought indoors afterwards as it is not intended for outdoor use.
Each fairy is cut and shaped by hand using the traditional Tiffany foiled glass method. Every piece of glass is edged with copper foil, soldered, and cleaned. Craft glass naturally contains small variations and character marks which make every fairy unique, and the colours shown in the photographs have been captured as accurately as possible.
Please ensure that you place (and secure) your glass in a safe location; if the piece falls it is likely to break. The item is not a toy.
