This iris was inspired by twilight gardens—the moment when purple blooms deepen in colour as the light softens. Irises often symbolise wisdom, hope, and transition, and this piece reflects that sense of quiet strength. The combination of wispy mid‑purple glass and the rich, textured Van Gogh tones creates a layered, luminous effect that shifts beautifully throughout the day.
It’s a piece designed to bring a moment of calm, colour, and gentle elegance into a window or favourite corner of the home.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
A single stained glass iris crafted in striking shades of purple. The main petals are made from a stunning mid purple glass with natural lighter wisps that glow softly in the light. The secondary petals are cut from deep purple Van Gogh glass, adding texture, depth, and a subtle shimmer. A small piece of gold Van Gogh glass forms the beard, catching the light with a warm, radiant sparkle.
The finished piece measures approximately 17cm tall by 11cm wide. Two hanging loops are soldered to the reverse, and it is recommended that both are used for secure display.
Each element is hand cut and shaped using the traditional Tiffany copper foil method. Every piece of glass is wrapped, soldered, cleaned, and polished by hand; sometimes a patina is added to deepen the finish. Craft glass naturally carries tiny variations, swirls, and textures, making every iris completely unique. Photographs are taken in natural light to show the colours as faithfully as possible.
