This little bee began as a study in light and warmth. I wanted to capture the glow of late summer, when bees drift through the garden and their stripes seem to catch the sun. The yellow orange glass reminded me of honey held up to the light, and the opaque black gives the body a bold, friendly shape. The wings are made from wispy white glass with soft swirling patterns that feel airy and alive. Together they create a bee that feels bright, hopeful and full of gentle movement, as if it has just paused mid‑flight.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
A bright and cheerful stained glass bumble bee made with opaque black and warm yellow orange glass for the body and soft wispy white glass for the wings. The colours catch the light beautifully, with the yellow orange sections glowing like honey when the sun shines through. The wings have gentle swirls and cloudlike textures that give the bee a sense of movement and life.
The finished piece measures approximately 17 cm by 17 cm. It can be hung by the hook on the back or displayed on a stand. For the best effect, place it where light can shine from behind so the colours can really sing.
This bee is hand cut and crafted using the traditional Tiffany copper foil method. Each piece of glass is individually foiled, soldered and cleaned. Craft glass naturally contains tiny variations and textures, so every bee is completely unique. The photographs show the colours as faithfully as possible.
Please display your glass in a secure location. If dropped, it may break. This item is decorative and not a toy.
