This Bethlehem star was inspired by the beauty of winter light and the way textured glass can catch even the softest glow. The clear Florentine glass gives the main points a crisp, frosted look, while the deep turquoise iridised glass adds a rich, jewel‑like shimmer that shifts gently as the light moves.
The Bethlehem star is slightly larger than most decorations and was designed as a statement piece — something that can sit proudly above a nativity scene, become the focal point of a garland, or hang in a window where it can shine on its own. The aim was to create a star that feels both traditional and contemporary: a piece that carries the quiet symbolism of the season while still working beautifully as a year‑round suncatcher for anyone who loves light, colour and handmade craft.
The Tiffany method allows each point to take shape slowly and precisely, bringing together the contrasting textures into a balanced, radiant whole.
Safety information
This item is glass and therefore breakable. Please handle with care and secure the item to a fixed point. All edges have been ground to remove sharpness. Consider how you display the glass and that it is in a safe location away from wagging dog tails or small hands! Lead solder has been used but this is very low risk. However, I always wash my hands after handling to reduce the risk to zero.

Full description
This listing is for one stained glass Bethlehem star. The four main points are made from clear Muranese (Florentine) glass, giving the star a beautifully crisp, frosted texture. The quarter points are made from deep turquoise iridised glass, which adds a rich, shimmering contrast. Other colour combinations are available in separate listings.
Each star has a hook for hanging from your Christmas tree, garland, or in a window as a suncatcher.
The star measures approximately 22 cm in height and 15 cm in width at the widest points.
Each piece is crafted using the traditional Tiffany foiled glass method. Every section of glass is hand cut, edged with copper foil, soldered and cleaned. Craft glass naturally contains tiny textures and variations, making every star unique. The colours shown in the photographs are as accurate as possible.
Please ensure that you place (and secure) your glass in a safe location; if the piece falls it is likely to break. The item is not a toy.
