About this Study of a Rocking Horse:
I was creating some illustrations for "The Velveteen Rabbit" (a classic children's story by Margery Williams) and went to Pollocks Toy museum in London to sketch and research. This Rocking Horse was perfect for 'The Skin Horse' in the story. I used pencils and chalk pastels on grey toned paper, to draw him.
Paper size is 23cm by 31cm.
It is signed by me on the front, with artist's notes down the left hand side (as shown in picture 3).
This is a unique drawing, with an intriguing atmosphere. The horse has character and a feeling of being aware! It makes a lovely gift, including for someone who loves horses or antique toys!
