This artwork is inspired by the brown hares that live in the fields around our village home in East Yorkshire. It's wonderful to catch a glimpse of them running across the grass, 'boxing', or even see the tiny leverets in Spring.
They're not just big rabbits - and resemble a small deer when sprinting across the fields, rather than a hopping bunny - and there's always something magical about seeing them...

Full description
The brown hare is one of Britain’s most mysterious and magical animals, long associated with folklore, moon cycles, and liminal places. This artwork was created as a quiet homage to the hare’s wildness, speed, and otherworldly presence.
I’m lucky to see hares regularly in the open fields near my home, and this piece carries that sense of the hare being a creature of the fields.
