Full description
Hand knitted socks are a delightful blend of traditional craftsmanship and personal expression. Unlike mass-produced socks, each pair is unique, reflecting the skill and creativity of the knitter. These socks are cherished for their warmth, comfort, and intricate designs, making them a favourite amongst those who appreciate handmade goods.
My hand knitted socks are a blend of wool and nylon. The nylon is added for extra strength and durability. I use five double pointed needles and knit in the traditional way of knitting in the round, which means there are no seams, even on the toes.
Some are knitted using my hand-dyed yarn, and some are knitted using commercially bought yarn. I am usually drawn to colour, so whether I have dyed it myself or bought the yarn, colour features highly in the end result.
These green stripe ones have been knitted using commercial yarn, which is self striping.
