I Only Ask To Be Free

OOAK portrait art in acrylic, collage and drawing pens on a recycled cardboard box mounted onto box cardboard. Showing obvious natural folds & ripples due to the nature of the ground, this feminist artwork depicts a bold woman in yellow suggesting vitality and illumination. The third eye on the forehead, represented by Earth could symbolize heightened consciousness and a global perspective, hinting at themes of environmental awareness, and the interconnectedness of all life. The butterflies, for freedom are also common symbols of transformation, metamorphosis, and renewal. This striking and unusual artwork measures 15 x 11.5 inches and the use of a recycled food box as the base adds a layer of commentary on consumerism, waste, and repurposing materials, turning something disposable into art. I have left rough, torn layered paper around the edges to suggest imperfection, fragmentation, and reconstruction. It will be hand signed on the front before shipping. NOTE This artwork does have authentic folds, ridges and wrinkles (which does however make it beautifully different) due to the nature of the ground materials. See close up shots for detail.
