Full description
I've used small patchwork squares in a range of blue hues to create this mini patchwork wall hanging. I've quilted a plaid style design over the patchwork using, turquoise, blue and orange threads. Peeping out from the dark blue binding around the edge of the patchwork I've stitched a rusty orange 'flange' in place. This touch of orange is just enough to lift the blues and prevent them looking subdued.
All the fabrics are 100% cotton including the backing which is unbleached calico. Between the patchwork front and calico backing is a layer of quilters wadding. This allows the quilting stitches to sink into the fabric giving the wall hanging an extra texture.
This wall hanging measures 20.75" long by 12.25" wide (53cm x 31cm). I have hand stitched a hanging sleeve to the back. The grey metal heart hanger is included in the price of this product. The hanger can easily be removed so the wall hanging could also be used as a table topper/runner.
This textile hanging is machine washable on a gentle cycle (remove hanger before washing!)
