I am often asked to make an advent calendar with larger pockets, so I experimented and this is the result!

I make many Advent Calendars every year from pre-printed panels and am often asked if I can make the pockets larger. Unfortunately this is not possible to do with the pre-printed panels, so I decided to design and make my own!
Introducing - the Large Pocket Advent Calendar! Entirely handmade using quality cotton fabric, it features 24 different pockets, offering a range of designs including snowmen, Father Christmas, decorations, Christmas Trees and gifts. The pockets are arranged sequentially in the order of numbers 1 to 24, starting from the top left hand corner.
Each pocket measures a generous 3.75" (9.5cm) square and all of the pockets are mounted onto a red and gold backing. I have sewn in a layer of soft cotton wadding and then quilted between the pockets to give a lovely "puffy" feel.
I also sew a dark red binding strip all the way around the edges to hold all the layers together and add four hanging loops, through which a quality birchwood dowel and hanging ribbon can be threaded. All you need to do is provide a wall hook or fixture from which to hang your Advent Calendar and of course fill the pockets with your own treats!
Measures 33" (84cm) high x 21.75" (55cm) wide.
Perfectly Imperfect - the Advent Calendar that I have for sale on Folksy (as shown in the photos) is my first sample. I was experimenting with how to number the pockets and used a gold ink pen to hand write the numbers onto the pockets. They are a little small but perfectly readable.
