I usually use these little wood blocks for my pet portraits, but on this occasion I thought I would try a skyscape, having recently seen a glorious sky whilst on a train journey. The aim of this piece was to create a sense of movement in the sky, which I think was aided by the possibility of painting round the edge of the block.

Sky Fire is a painting of a dramatic sky in mixed media, on a prepared wood block. It is supplied with a suitable wooden stand for easy display. The painting measures approx 15cm x 15 cm and is painted around the edges
