Perfectly Imperfect-why?
This stoneware ceramic wall shrine is slightly flawed due to a bit of warping of the cloud on the left of the shrine. It has curved around the frame of the shrine a little during firing, not sitting entirely flat on the border of the shrine frame as intended. There is also a little warping of the bottom part of the shrine frame too. This doesn't prevent little treasures from being placed in the shrine but just detracts a bit, visually.
More info:
Formed from speckled lavafleck stoneware clay and fired to 1160 degrees, this shrine is designed to hold tiny treasures or small images to create a changeable stage for a tableau of your making. Glazed with an orange and pink sponged sun, white cloud and gilded with gold coloured metal leaf. There is a subtle wash of red and orange glaze on the background of the piece to suggest a radiant sunset.
Small Dutch style house included.
Sunset skies shrine (this listing) photographed here with High Noon shrine (separate listing-please check my shop).
