This bag was made using fabric from a much loved local sewing shop that has now closed its doors. When the shop closed, only a small amount of this beautiful butterfly print fabric remained, so it was carefully turned into a limited collection of handmade bags rather than being left unused.
Each bag in the range was thoughtfully cut and sewn to make the most of what was left, creating practical, well made pieces that carry a small reminder of a local shop and the creative community around it.

Full description
This handmade padded zip bag was made by my wife and is constructed from 100 percent cotton butterfly melody print fabric in warm mango (orange and yellow tones), with an approximate fabric weight of 150gsm. The padding is built into the body of the bag, providing structure, protection and light insulation while keeping the bag flexible.
The bag is fully lined with smooth orange satin polyester fabric, creating a soft interior that protects contents and allows items to slide in and out easily. It closes with a heavy gold tone metal zip, chosen for durability and ease of use.
Inside is a removable panel, which can be used either as a base support to help the bag hold its shape or positioned upright as a divider to separate contents. An internal slip pocket adds organised storage.
The boxed shape allows the bag to stand when open. Approximate measurements are 25 cm wide x 20 cm deep x 25 cm tall.
