These 'frosted' vessels were made as part of a collection of work for a London Potters and Sogetsu School of Ikebana London Branch (SSILB) Exhibition on 1st November 2025 representing winter in the form of a tree trunk - inspired by the stump of a tree I see on my walk with our dog each morning.
I was one of a small group of London Potters each paired up with an SSILB member... my partner was Ditas Pring and we came together on the day to present a collaboration of ceramics and Japanese style flower arranging.
Visitors were invited to "Come and experience the harmony of nature, art and imagination... a unique collaboration showcasing stunning Ikebana arrangements displayed in unique, handcrafted ceramics."
The theme for the 2025 exhibition was Winter Wonderland.

Symbolic of strength, unity and harmony with nature, these ceramic vessels represents winter - a time of dormancy in nature and quiet transition before the rebirth of spring: Trinity.
This trio of high fired (fully vitrified) stoneware vases in three heights, made by hand using a coiling technique. They have been glazed on the inside with glossy white glaze and left textured on the outside - black underglazed was worked into the texture and wiped back to accentuate the marks made on the clay. A frosty coloured glossy glaze drips from the edges of each one in contrast to the matt texture on the outside.
All are roughly 9cm in diameter and the 3 heights are as follows: 17cm, 15cm and 13cm.
My Maker's Mark applied to each one.
Sold as a set of three.
