This satchel comes from my long-standing interest in utilitarian bags — the kind built to be used hard and to last. Inspired by the school satchels I grew up with, the design prioritises structure, capacity, and durability over ornament.
I’ve added a quiet note of luxury through a fully lined main compartment, and drawn on my love of industrial design by using bow shackles as the handle hardware — components chosen for strength, honesty, and longevity.
This is not a fashion piece. It’s a working bag, made to age, soften, and carry the marks of use.

- The satchel shown in the photographs has been sold. This listing is for a made-to-order version of the same design, made individually by hand. -
This is a handmade leather satchel designed as a working bag rather than a fashion accessory. The form is rooted in traditional school and utility satchels — structured, practical, and built to carry weight comfortably.
The main compartment is fully lined, adding durability and a quiet sense of finish. The handle is fixed using industrial bow shackles, chosen for their strength and honesty of design rather than decoration. Every component is intended to be functional, robust, and repairable.
The leather will soften and darken with use, picking up marks and character over time. Each bag will develop its own surface and patina through use.

The satchel can be produced in most leather colours. Hardware and thread colour can also be specified. Please contact me before ordering to confirm colour availability if you have a specific preference.
Please allow approximately 2–3 weeks for making before dispatch.
As each piece is made individually, small variations in leather grain and finish are to be expected.
