Full description
This particular piece is mounted in a small slimline glass and metal frame (4 inch x 4 inch) . The frame itself has flecks of gold around the edges with a black leather back to it. The frame does also contain a brown piece of string tied to it as seen in images above ,which acts as the hanging mechanism.
Each piece of textiles has a rough hemmed edge and is removable. The work is stitched in various shimmery threads adding a shine to the work itself combined with silk which has been naturally dyed using dried flowers and rust.
This has been layered with printed floral book page paper, which has been worked over with lace and stitch forming the red flowers, emphasising the textile art mixed media style. My work has been inspired by the beauty of nature capturing this rustic floral cottage look within the work.
