Made from locally sourced yew, this hand-turned wooden pot celebrates the natural beauty and variation of the wood. Carefully cut from a local tree and thoughtfully shaped, the piece retains a strong sense of place and origin.

Turning the pot off centre allows the grain and colour to move freely, revealing striking contrasts between dark heartwood and warm, lighter sapwood. A natural live edge has been left on the rim, preserving the original line of the tree and adding an organic, sculptural quality.

Each piece is shaped by hand rather than forced into symmetry, allowing the character of the yew to guide the final form. Subtle movement, depth, and surface variation mean no two views are the same.

Finished by hand and woodturned with care, this is a one-of-a-kind vessel is suitable as a decorative wooden pot, sculptural object, or natural accent for the home.

Full description

Turned from a local yew; this pot celebrates the beauty of the tree.

The rim keeps a little of the live edge,

a quiet line where bark once held the sky.

Off-centre, it leans into its own nature,

letting grain wander,

letting colour speak,

dark heartwood folding into warm sap,

each shade finding the next.
