While studying for my MA in Animation, I was struck by just how expensive it was to even get started. While my main focus was learning how to make the puppets and sets, others in my class were more interested in the animation and direction, but were held back by the high price of a decent armature. I worked on this design during my MA and for several years after, ensuring it would be cheap enough for a student while still standing up to an intensive animation project.

Full description
Handmade from years of practical research & development, this stop-motion animation armature is made from steel plates, aluminium wire & brass tube wrists to allow the addition of hands (included). Ideal for claymation, clothed puppets or sculpting. Probably not suitable for real, fired clay.
Steel feet mean your Bare Bones Mini will stick to magnets on your animation table, and heat-resistant adhesive used in the puppet means you can even put it in the oven to bake polymer clay (only tested up to 150 degrees celcius). Please note: the hands are reinforced with mouldable plastic which WILL melt in contact with heat - if you require wire-only hands please message when placing your order.
