This piece was born out of my deep love for the Welsh landscape — not as a literal place, but as a felt memory.
Snowdonia has a way of belonging to people: a favourite mountain, a walk taken long ago, a view that stays with you. I wanted to capture that feeling rather than a map-accurate scene.
Working entirely by hand with fine merino wool, I slowly built the landscape fibre by fibre, allowing the colours to move and blend as they do in nature. The sky was shaped instinctively, echoing the drama and shifting light that makes the mountains feel alive. The sheep — quiet, watchful — ground the piece in familiarity and calm.
This is not a print or reproduction. It is an original, tactile artwork, made slowly and intentionally, inviting the viewer to pause, remember, and see their own story within it.

Hand Felted Merino Wool Landscape – Snowdonia Inspired
This original needle-felted artwork is made entirely by hand using fine merino wool, carefully layered and sculpted to create depth, movement, and atmosphere.
Inspired by the dramatic landscapes of Snowdonia, this piece captures that moment when the land feels alive — a winding path through green hills, sheep resting quietly, and a sky glowing with fire and light. Many people tell me these works remind them of a place they know, or a memory they can almost step back into.
Each element is built fibre by fibre, allowing the wool to behave like paint — soft, expressive, and full of texture. No two pieces can ever be replicated exactly.
