I like hiking and climbing to the tops of mountains and hills, the energy of any raised point feels so majestic and energising. This place has a sombre energy to it but can also be a good place for silent contemplation.

This is a painting of one of the landmarks visitors can find on the Isle of Islay, Scotland: the American Monument which stands there to commemorate the people who lost their lives in 2 separate ship disasters.
This place offers dramatic views of the sea and cliffs as well as Ireland and Kintyre.
Original artwork, painted from my own photo. Acrylic on stretched canvas, varnished. 25 x 20 cm/9.84 inch x 7.87 inch, depth 1.5 cm/0.59 inch. Signed on the side. Saw tooth hanger.
