Happy New Year! I’m back and I’ve got lots of spoons for you to choose from. Stay tuned for some bargains (stash them away for next Christmas!) and enjoy browsing my daftness… please note that I’m not currently able to take custom orders, I have a shoulder issue that I need to sort out before I can start hammering again!

A pearl-handled antique pickle fork with silver-plated barbed tines, hand stamped along the shaft with WHATEVER PICKLES YOUR FANCY. This would make a nice present for a foodie, maybe along with a jar of fancy olives or home-made pickled onions.
The fork is approx. 17.5cm long, so it'll reach to the bottom of a substantial jar. I've coloured the lettering black with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic paint. Hand washing will prolong the pigment life and be kinder to the remaining silver plating than a dishwasher. And yes, there is tarnish on the metal parts but if you prefer a less 'antiqued' look the tarnish can be easily removed with a drop of silver polish or one of those impregnated silver-cleaning cloths.
The pearl handle is showing its age a bit and is slightly discoloured at the end, but it's still very shiny and lustrous and far prettier than my photos make it look. The joint between handle and tines is still sound, and to keep it that way please don't ever leave it soaking in the sink! Also avoid leaving the fork standing in acidic liquids such as vinegar pickles, preserved lemons or chutneys, as these can cause pitting and discoloration to the plating.
