Full description
This wonderful little kingfisher sculpture is a mini version of one listed elsewhere in my shop. The kingfisher model has been needle felted using woollen fibres and a barbed felting needle that binds the fibres together. After sculpting white core fibres into shape, a top coat of blue and orange merino wool fibres is added with appropriate markings around the head. The legs are formed from wire, the eyes are beaded and a beak made from air dry clay has been added.
The kingfisher has been mounted on a perch which has also been needle felted, with a small circular wooden base. The kingfisher is approximately 11.5 cm long with the ornament as a whole measuring approximately 16 cm tall.
