It's a wrap folks! I'm now on my holidays. Many many thanks to everyone who has supported my daft little enterprise this year. Have a brilliant Christmas and I look forward to bashing more spoons for you in 2026.
HOLIDAY DATES: Please note the shop will now be CLOSED until Fri 2 Jan inclusive. I may be away from my computer so please be patient if it takes me longer than usual to answer messages. If you've ordered recently, rest assured that all packages have been despatched by first class post.

I've hand stamped LAY IT ON THICK onto a vintage butter spreader with a red celluloid (or at least, an early plastic of some sort) handle and a silver-plated round-ended blade. A great letterbox gift for a butter-lover!
It's about 17.5cm long and the black in the letters is a harmless water-based acrylic ink. The joint between blade and handle is still sound and it's generally in good nick; there is a little residual tarnish on the blade and the collar. I quite like the 'antiqued' look but a spot of silver polish and elbow grease should remove it if you want the blade to be shinier.
Wash by hand and don't ever leave your spreader soaking in water as this will eventually loosen the handle joint. This applies to any cutlery where blade and handle are of different materials!
