This single-section book is sewn at the spine with Meisi linen thread from Pro Atelier Plus, in a rich, dreamy red called "Bordeaux". Meisi Original Linen Thread is 100% Natural Waxed Linen. This Pro Atelier Plus thread is dyed in an environmentally friendly way, so it fits right in with the ethos of my creations, which I try to make as Earth-friendly as possible.
It is all wrapped up in a ribbon created from recycled sari silk in a gorgeous turquoise green with sparkly golden highlights.

Full description
The cover of this sketchbook is an original cyanotype print, featuring Wiltshire wildflowers … there are wild cranesbill, mallow and ox-eye daisies. I'm so lucky ... there is a huge wildflower meadow on the common land near my home, which is lush with flowers all summer long.
Cyanotype printing is a wonderful form of alternative photography, where you use the sun’s UV rays to develop the print. I always use flowers as the subjects for my prints, and sometimes I add some extra ingredients … for this journal, I used salt in the wet cyanotype developing process, because this gives a wonderful crystalising effect. I also used some sparkly gold ink to add a bit of glitz!
The cover prints were created using watercolour art paper.
This book has 20 pages (40 sides) ... a heavy, textured watercolour paper, perfect for sketching.
The sketchbook is slightly larger than A5 size – approximately 6.5 x 9 inches.
It's the perfect gift for the artist in your life.
