Full description
I love to create beautiful jewellery, I also like to recycle as much as possible
This was a cameo brooch, made during the 1940s/70s, its made from a type of plastic, possibly called celluloid plastic?
Previously these cameos would carved from materials like shell, the switch to plastic could of been down to ww2?
I've wire wrapped this cameo in square copper wire, with an open front design, I did not want to cover this beautiful floral display.
I love the swirls and twisted metal for extra effect.
Copper is also such a pleasure to work with and so attractive.
Comes ready to wear on a 16 inch braided leather cord.
Length 79mm
Width 33mm
Will arrive in a cute organza gift bag
Materials I used
Vintage cameo
1mm square copper wire
1mm half round copper wire
0.315mm copper weaving wire
Braided leather cord
Note - I will always state in my listings if any recycled materials have been used.
Caring for your copper jewellery
To care for your copper jewellery, try avoiding exposure to chemicals, too much moisture and oils by removing it before showering, swimming and applying lotions and perfumes. To clean use a gentle methods to manage the natural tarnishing process.
