I wanted to create a piece capturing all the best aspects of Hilbre Island: the scenery and stunning natural landscape, the interesting ruins of the old building, the crashing waves of the surrounding sea and the beautiful sunsets that this part of the UK offers.

Full description
This A4 print features my original painting The Old Lifeboat Station: Hilbre Island on 300 gsm matte card. I created the piece using mixed media: acrylic paint, water soluble wax crayons and various pens and markers.
The scene depicts a dramatic sunset over the ruins on Hilbre Island, off West Kirby in Wirral, of the old lifeboat station. It is a place I have enjoyed visiting and I love abandoned buildings.
