Spalted timber is under used due to the processes required to work and finish it. It offers unique and beautiful options for a variety of creations and as I love to see it in my home, wanted to make things others will appreciate away from the usual mass produced options.

Full description
A uniquely beautiful circular clock made of spalted ash wood with hand made brass quarter marks. Spalting occurs when trees are attacked by fungus, this eventually kills the tree unless cut but results in these amazing patterns through the timber. Once cut and carved, the timber is stabilised to work with a water based, VOC free sanding sealer, sanded to 320 grit then oiled and waxed so is smooth to the touch. The clock has a 260mm diameter and is 30mm thick with a quartz mechanism. We accept custom orders for virtually any legal hardwoods.
