Inspired by frosty autumn walks along the River Adur, where I often spotted burdock bushes with their stubborn little burrs clinging to my dogs’ fur! I was drawn to the interesting structure of the plants, and wanted to capture their form using rich, earthy colours in glass. This piece is my interpretation of those burdock seedheads.

Full description
A truly unique stained glass burdock seedhead stem, handcrafted and designed to bring warm, earthy tones into any space.
This delicate, yet striking piece features individually crafted glass discs in rich amber, honey, and deep brown shades with varying textures, each set on slender black metal stems that mimic the structure of a burdock seedhead.
This stem is perfect for displaying solo in a vase or incorporating into a dried flower arrangement to add texture and warmth.
This stem is approx 18 inches (45cm). Stems can be bent to fit your display vessel. If you need your stem to be longer please message me, I can accomodate this.
Each piece is individually handcrafted using the traditional copper foil method. The burdocks have a black patina on the stems and a copper patina around each of the burrs. I make each stem to order and as such it will be unique and may have subtle variations that add character and authenticity - just like the nature it is reflecting.
Please allow 3-5 days for me to handcraft your piece. Items are then dispatched via Royal Mail Tracked 48. If you need your order sooner, just drop me a message, I'm more than happy to prioritise rush orders where possible.
