I came across this biscuit-themed fabric and couldn’t resist it. As a quilter, I’m always drawn to prints that tell a story, and these reminded me of tea breaks, British favourites and cosy afternoons. The idea of turning them into quilted coasters felt like the perfect way to showcase the designs.

These coasters, sometimes called mug rugs, are slightly larger than standard coasters so they can hold both your mug and a small treat. The larger one can even accommodate a tea pot or cafetiere. They’re quilted with a light layer of wadding for structure and durability, and finished with neat hand sewing.
