I made this CANTEEN sign because most family kitchens secretly are canteens — constant snack requests, clattering plates, and someone always asking what’s on the menu. This piece is a little wink to the wonderfully chaotic heart of the home.

Welcome a bit of playful, nostalgic charm into your home with this hand-crafted CANTEEN sign. Each one begins as a simple wooden board, carefully cut, sanded, and painted in a my cozy studio in Devon. The raised, layered letters create soft shadows and a tactile feel, while the warm caramel and blush tones give it a gentle retro look that works beautifully in kitchens, dining rooms, cafés, and family eating spaces.
Every sign is painted by hand using traditional signwriting paints, so no two will ever be exactly alike — a small celebration of slow making and individual craftsmanship. It’s lightweight, easy to hang, and full of personality — the perfect handmade flourish for anyone who loves good food, good company, and a touch of whimsy on their walls.
