Full description
This one is a bit special.
In 1932 Bassett's created a promotional design for their much loved Liquorice Allsorts, which they printed onto fabric to be used in shop displays. I recently acquired a small mint condition piece of this very rare fabric with the logo Bassetts used from the 1960s. I can't be sure of its exact age but The Victoria and Albert Museum have a length in their collection which is listed as a 1970 re-print which makes it at least 55 years old if not older.
This hardback journal is completely unique. It has been made with care from high quality 130gsm smooth white paper which is hand cut, folded, stitched and bound, and then covered with bookcloth made from vintage Bassetts Liquorice Allsorts cotton fabric and mulberry paper. It has 72 plain white pages, suitable for a range of media including: Graphite pencil, coloured pencils, gel and rollerball pens. Perfect for taking notes, planning or journalling.
It has a black satin ribbon bookmark and end-papers made from high quality Canford paper.
This book is entirely hand made by me in my bookbinding and art studio in Oxfordshire.
Other items are available in this fabric which can be seen in the last photo.
If you have any questions or special requests, please do get in touch.
Pencils and pens not included.
